What happens to my cryptocurrencies if something happens to me?
Most of us will have heard reports of ‘do-it-yourself’ individual investors who have lost the private key codes to their crypto wallets and unable to retrieve their cryptocurrency.
Blockchains are highly secure and the entire process decentralised, so there is no way to restore a private key. This presents a challenge to pass on your crypto if prior plans have not been made.
Because Crossgate Capital is a traditional investment vehicle, with shares titled in the investor’s name, this provides a practical solution in respect to estate planning. If an unfortunate event occurs, the Shares form assets as part of your estate, the administrator of which can therefore make contact with us to assist.
